R-Drive Image is a potent utility providing disk image files creation for backup or duplication purposes.
So, it looks like you have a password recovery utility installed. Try running it, and type in your username. Does it work?
Also, there is an option to "make a restore point", which could make your system somewhat recoverable.
Finally, I suppose there's a chance you haven't backed up your files, but I can't tell you how to backup files on Windows XP.

Well, I guess it's the OS that worked (you can have it working after a reinstall in case something didn't worked right, so...).

I never said it didn't, the point was that it was possible that the file I mentioned was created by the recovery software I mentioned, or other similar ones, so when we find a good "recoverable" OS, we can try to recover all files from it.

It's not that, you only need the same OS (Windows XP, in your case).

Yes, you did, you said that it was not a bootable recovery medium, that it was in the S: drive and you can have the same OS.

I was just pointing out that I never said anything about this "working".

Just because I didn't said that something works or doesn't work, doesn't mean that it doesn't work.
